About the program and how to be part of it.

Why this program?

The purpose of this program is to evaluate selected SMEs to identify gaps in their state of investor -readiness, assist them to fill the gaps and connect them to the capital market ecosystem.

Who the program is for?

This program is for SMEs that are committed to sustainable growth, meet the selection criteria at each selection round and demonstrate long-term commitment to the investor-readiness ideals of the clinic.

Be part of it as an SME

Look out for selection openings, check that you meet the criteria for that selection round and apply to be considered for the diagnostic services. You can register as an SME on the link above to receive notifications of application season openings.

Be part of it as a prospective advisor

Register as a service provider with the secretariat to be notified when the selection period of advisors opens. Check if you meet the eligibility for that selection and apply to be considered as part of an Advisory Team for assigned SMEs.

Be part of it as a technical assistance provider

Register with the secretariat and support its activities, by working with them to streamline how to recognize SMEs that have completed the program and give them priority access to your programs.

Be part of it as other partner

Register with the secretariat and support its activities as:

An investor, to identify potential SME investment opportunities.

A statutory agency, to support the clinic operations.

SMEs requirements to be enrolled into the

Investment Clinic

- Registered business in Rwanda
- Limited liability
- Evidence of registration with required statutory agencies
- Belong to sector for cohort
- Minimum 1-year operating history
- Minimum RWF 50 million annual revenue
- Minimum three (3) full time staff
- Not the subject of bankruptcy proceedings
- Resolution of board of directors to be part of process
- Evidence of management continuity
- Nomination by a partner is a plus
- Subject of partner assistance is a plus
- Not the subject of major legal or compliance proceedings of potentially significant impact on business sustainability and integrity


Prospective advisors requirements to join the

Investment Clinic

- Registered business in Rwanda
- Minimum 3-years operating history
- Evidence of relevant projects
- No conflict of interest
- Not the subject of bankruptcy proceedings
- Resolution of board of directors to be part of process
- Evidence of management continuity
- Availability of qualified professionals
- Not the subject of major legal or compliance proceedings of potentially significant impact on business sustainability and integrity
- Capital market transaction advisory expertise is a plus
- Commitment to provide high quality service at heavily subsidized rates agreed with Secretariat
